India government likely to consider soyoil import tax cut
A government panel will likely soon consider a soyoil import tax cut from 20 percent, people familiar with the matter said Wednesday (March 18).
The panel will also revisit an earlier decision to allow up to 2 million tonnes of non-basmati rice exports to facilitate government-to-government exports through diplomatic channels, they said.
The panel earlier this month allowed the imports "in principle," but the mechanism was short on details.
