Hong Kong resumes processing of Thailand's poultry import applications
Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety (CFS) Wednesday (Mar 18) announced that the processing of applications for importing poultry and poultry products from the central-western part of Thailand would resume with immediate effect.
The centre suspended the processing of applications following an outbreak of the highly pathogenic bird flu on a poultry farm in Thailand last November.
In January, the centre lifted the restrictions for Thailand but not the affected regions.
A CFS spokesman said the decision to rescind the suspension was due to the control measures taken by Thailand and that there are no other reported cases of bird flu in the country.
