Ukraine's bird flu zoning measure recognised by the EU, allows poultry exports to restart

Ukraine's State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service said the European Union has recognised the country's measure to establish separate zones in terms of bird flu outbreaks, allowing poultry exports to the EU to resume in the future, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to a statement by the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service, Ukraine can resume poultry exports from uninfected zones in the country from March 20, even though quarantine restrictions are still enforced in zones where bird flu has been detected.

In December 2020, the European Union and several other countries have suspended poultry imports from Ukraine after bird flu was detected in the country, specifically in the Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions.
