Ceva CEO emphasises quality livestock, food production to meet future generation's needs

The agriculture industry should draw pride and motivation from the work it delivers to protect future generations, said Ceva's chairman and CEO, Marc Prikazsky.

Prikazsky made the comment at the opening of the company's  "C the future" innovation summit which happened ahead of the VIV Asia show in Bangkok, Thailand.

He drew attention to the need to improve education and public awareness around what people eat. In addition, he highlighted that predominant staples in the Southeast Asian diet, namely rice and other cereals, contain lower utilisable protein and are low or lacking in necessary amino acids and micronutrients, such as iron and B‑complex vitamins which are found in meat, milk and eggs.

While food safety, quality, availability and price has "never been better", consumer confidence and trust in what they eat continue to fall, Prikazsky added.

He encouraged producers to continue focusing on producing meat and eggs in a sustainable manner, ensuring the highest levels of animal welfare and guaranteeing the safety of food.

Prikazsky also pledged that Ceva will continue to support its customers by delivering innovative solutions that encourage the shift to more preventative health programmes based around improved biosecurity, vaccines and their application backed up by real time data and flock health monitoring.
