Mountaire Farms to expand chicken processing plant
To be able to expand its workforce and an existing chicken processing plant to meet production demand for fresh and frozen chicken, Mountaire Farms of North Carolina Inc. is investing US$5 million to upgrade its new equipment and machinery.
According to robesonian.com the company plans to add 90 new jobs. The expansion is expected to contribute an estimated US$2 million annually to the local economy.
Robeson County Board of Commissioners offered Mountaire Farms an incentives package based on the number of jobs, wages and investments created. The company will have tax breaks for four years.
