Grocery store shelves emptied as consumers stock up

 

Philadelphia, PA — CME cheese prices rallied this week as consumers flocked to grocery stores. Blocks ended the week up 12.25 cents and barrels, up 2.25. Across the food business, our contacts reported a surge in retail sales this week as Coronavirus spread. And it wasn't just people in the USA. In Europe, the continent with eight countries now in the top-10 of most new cases of Coronavirus, consumers also stormed grocery stores.
