Wales' 2010 red meat exports rise on-year

 

 

The overseas sales of Welsh red meat including beef rose by GBP5 million (US$8.03 million) in 2010, according to red meat agency Hybu Cig Cymru.

 

The export market was worth just over GBP147 million (US$236.22 million), with beef sales rising by GBP4.4 million (US$7.07) compared with 2009.

 

Exports of beef from Wales rose to over GBP35 (US$56.24), in 2010, with Holland still be the biggest importer: last year the Dutch market was worth GBP10.6 million (US$17.03 million).

 

Biggest rises were in Germany (129% to 1.4 million) and Denmark (GBP1.1 million).
