Japan buys feed wheat, feed barley in tender
Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries bought 17,440 tonnes of feed wheat and 218,962 tonnes of feed barley in a tender concluded on Wednesday (March 15), a ministry official said.
The official said the entire cargo will arrive in Japan between March 16 and May 31.
No further details on the origin or price of the wheat or barley shipment were provided by the ministry.
The tender is part of the simultaneous-buy-sell or SBS quota that Japan agreed to under a World Trade Organization agreement to allow foreign producers limited access to the Japanese market.
