Germany permitted to resume pork exports to Vietnam
Germany has reached a 'regionalisation' agreement with Vietnam, permitting the former to resume the export of fresh pork to the country effective immediately.
Following the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Germany, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture succeeded in getting some third countries to accept a regionalisation agreement, meaning that exporting pork from ASF-free areas in Germany is possible.
Successful negotiations were also held with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Canada to import fresh pork from farms in ASF-free areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture is currently using all available contact options for regionalisation negotiations with China.
