Spain's overall pork exports higher in 2021, but lower exports to China

Spain's exports of pork and pork products to China had dropped by 9.4% in 2021.

However, overall Spanish exports of pork and pork preparations reached 1,923,530 tonnes last year, according to the latest Cexgan data. This represents a 7.9% increase over the previous year, when they stood at 1,783,038 tonnes.

Shipments to China decreased, going from 1,390,079 tonnes in 2020 to 1,258,975 tonnes in the following year. The country is followed by the Philippines, which ranked as the second leading destination, surpassing Japan.
