Lallemand appoints new R&D director
Lallemand Animal Nutrition has announced the appointment of Dr Mathieu Castex as global research and development director for the company, succeeding Dr Henri Durand.
After leading Lallemand's R&D activities since the early days of the company in the late nineties, Dr Durand will retire later this year.
Dr Castex has spent the past five years as aquaculture and yeast derivatives product manager, contributing widely to the development and the success of these ranges.
In addtion to Dr Castex's appointment, Stéphane Ralite, an expert of the aquaculture market, has been appointed product manager (aquaculture), replacing Dr Castex.
Ralite has a solid experience and knowledge of the aquaculture segment in different international regions. During his career, he has held several positions within Evialis / InVivo group in France, playing a key role in the set-up of its aqua division, Ocialis.
After his service as aquaculture market manager within Diana group for its Aquativ Division, Ralite established his own consulting company, bringing his aqua expertise to different organisations.
He will be in charge of the global development of Lallemand's aquaculture range, whose flagship product, BACTOCELL®, is the first probiotic to be authorised for aquaculture (all farmed fish and shrimps species) by EFSA.
The yeast derivatives portfolio will be managed by doctor of veterinary medicine, Caroline Desmaizières, who brings with her a strong experience and expertise in product development and strategic marketing.
Desmaizières graduated from Toulouse Vet School, France, and has held several marketing management positions with Merial in Spain and France for its swine and equine product lines.
After a few years of running her own marketing and strategy consultancy agency, Caroline was recently the marketing and communication manager with an equine health equipment organisation.
