Indonesia's PT Malindo ventures into chicken processing 

PT Malindo Feedmill has ventured into chicken product processing through its subsidiary, PT Malindo Food Delight.

The processing plant has been built in Cikarang in an area of 2.6 hectares. The plant with a capacity of 9,000 tonnes per year will be operational in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Chief commissioner of PT Malindo Feedmill, Tan Lai Kai, believed that PT Malindo Food Delight would be able to compete in the business of processed chicken products because of the potential market of Indonesia with a population of 240 million people.

Analyst of PT e-Trading Securities, Grady Wijaya, predicted that with the new business, PT Malindo Feedmill would increase the production of broilers to meet the raw material needs of the new business.
