Malaysia and Canada to boost cooperation in agriculture, fisheries and livestock
Malaysia and Canada have expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the agriculture, fisheries and livestock sectors, in addition to welcoming technical cooperation in agricultural research and development, Bernama reported last month.
This was among the essence of the discussion between Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup and Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Lawrence MacAulay, which took place in February.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) said the meeting also discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of food security.
"(Kurup) also extended his congratulations to Canada for assuming the chair of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) for 2024," said KPKM.
Additionally, Kurup invited Canada to participate in the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism Expo, set to take place on September 11-22.
