Higher costs, strengthened demand lift China lysine prices

Lysine prices moved higher during the week ending March 13.

Feed producers increased stockpiles of lysine as soymeal prices continued to surge, gaining 7% during late February amid soaring global soy prices. This helped lysine producers to lift prices to cover rising output costs resulting from significantly higher corn prices.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine consolidated higher in the range of RMB4.50-4.80/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1581 (Mar 13)
