EFL AG-DATA: Vietnam livestock operating outlook for layers, next 6 - 9 months into mid-2026

 

Vietnam's animal protein sector remains operational and commercially active, but the system is clearly not in broad expansion mode.

 

Production continues across species, yet decision-making has shifted toward risk control, margin protection, and capital discipline, rather than focusing on volume growth. The operating environment is uneven. Conditions differ materially between domestically driven livestock cycles and export-dependent aquaculture. 

 

As for layers, the segment remains the most fragile, driven by egg-price sensitivity and restocking risk.

Layer operations are currently uneven. Restocking continues in parts of the system, but egg prices are under pressure, and margins are tightening.
