Southeast Asia is Australia's second biggest agricultural market
Australia's Agriculture Minister, Murray Watt, underscored the significance of Southeast Asia as the country's second biggest agricultural market, the destination for approximately 23% of its exports, Sky News reported.
During an ASEAN summit in Melbourne, hosted by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, nine South East Asian leaders convened, highlighting the region's strategic importance in agricultural trade.
Watt said a lot of Australians are not aware that Southeast Asia is Australia's second biggest agricultural market, not far behind China.
Watt also said that there is potential to grow that even further, underlining the prospects for enhanced agricultural collaboration and trade within the region.
