Vietnam Farmers' Union delegation visits Laos to strengthen bilateral cooperation

A delegation from the Vietnam Farmers' Union (VNFU), led by chairman Luong Quoc Doan, extended a courtesy visit to Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, a Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and president of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee, in Vientiane, Laos, Vietnam Plus reported.
During the meeting, Doan emphasised the purpose of the visit, which is to exchange information, share experiences in mass mobilisation work, and establish cooperation mechanisms between the association and the Lao front. The discussions also revolved around the establishment of the Lao Farmers' Association.
Sinlavong expressed high appreciation for the role of the VNFU in Vietnam's agricultural development and welcomed the delegation's visit as an opportunity for Laos to learn from Vietnam's experiences in developing its farmers' union.
Additionally, the Vietnamese delegation engaged in talks with a delegation from the LFNC Central Committee, led by vice president Khamlay Sipaseuth. Both sides agreed to enhance communication efforts to deepen the understanding of farmers in both countries about the strategic significance and importance of the longstanding friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
They reaffirmed their commitment to preserving and nurturing the strong traditional relationship between the two nations, pledging to support each other in various activities of the farmers' union and the overall development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.
Concluding the talks, the two delegations signed a Memorandum of Understanding for bilateral cooperation spanning the period from 2025 to 2030, further solidifying their commitment to collaborative efforts and friendship.
