Private collaboration with Kasetsart University provides training for the Asian feed and livestock industry
Progressus and Kasetsart University have collaborated to launch a much-needed training resource for the feed milling, livestock and aquaculture industry across Asia.
In the form of short courses, each five-day residential programme will cover a variety of crucial management and production fields.
AgriSchools will be held at Kasetsart University's Kampang Saen Campus, at their recently opened training facilities.
The programme calendar for AgriSchools in 2015 includes: Feed Mill Management, from May 11 to 15; Pig Management, from July 13 to 17; Aquaculture Nutrition, from August 24 to 28; Layer Management, from September 14 to 18; Aqua Milling, from November 23 to 27.
Dean of Agriculture at Kasetsart University, Kampaeng Saen Campus, Assistant Professor Seksom Attamangkune said, "Education of professionals in the industry is crucial to ensure Asian agriculture keeps up with the very latest in production and management methods. Our team endorses the programmes and content of Progressus' AgriSchools and we look forward to developing these courses not only for industry, but also for our Thai and international students".
Director at Progressus, Yiannis Chistodoulou said, "Our education initiative - Progressus's Agrischools will facilitate the most up-to-date technical courses available to agribusinesses across Asia, ensuring that everyone has access to the latest technical and management information available."
"We have combined leading industry experts from around the world with our local experts to ensure the very latest of information is available to those who attend. Further, attendees will receive regular updates on recent advances following the training to ensure our graduates are kept up-to-date," he added.
Progressus had identified the wide variance in accessibility to up-to-date technical and management information across the Asian region. It also recognises the need for completely neutral programmes, not aligned to any one company or brand.
Yiannis concluded, "Our AgriSchools are up-to-date, independent and well presented by industry leaders. They are available in scheduled AgriSchools. However, we are also working with clients to provide, in a similar form, in-house technical programmes."
