Brazil's Port of Paranagua corn exports exceed one million tonnes

In January-February 2013, corn export shipments via Brazilian Port of Paranagua surpassed one million tonnes, compared with only 340,000 tonnes in January-February 2012.

In January and February 2013, soy and soymeal shipments reached 517,000 tonnes and 556,000 tonnes, respectively.

The corn supply is high due to the strong second crop in 2011-12 season and the start of deliveries of the first crop for 2012-13. In order to support the growth in corn shipments, APPA has adopted temporary extraordinary measures which facilitate cargo departure.
