China's February soy imports shrink 21%
 

 

China's soy imports were 2.32 million tonnes in February, down 21% on-year and 54.86% less than in January, the General Administration of Customs said.

 

The country imported US$1.35 billion worth of soy last month, decreasing 52.79% on-month, while it imported US$444 million worth of edible oil, down 31.8% compared with the previous month.

 

In the first two months of this year, China imported 7.45 million tonnes of soy, increasing 6.1% compared with the same period of last year.

 

The country imported 54.8 million tonnes of soy last year, up 28.8% from a year earlier, according to reports.
