China's corn exports fell 91 percent on year in February to 2,670 tonnes from 29,261 tonnes, according to preliminary data provided Wednesday by the General Administration of Customs.

The figure is sharply higher than just 26 tonnes exported in January.

In the year to date, China has exported 2,696 tonnes of corn, down 96 percent on year.

The customs department will release a detailed breakdown of the data around March 25.
