Marine Harvest's application for giant fish farm rejected
Marine Harvest's application for a giant fish farm in Arran has been rejected by the North Ayrshire Council.
The Norwegian seafood company's application was rejected due to overwhelming opposition votes in the council meeting, which debated the application for almost two hours.
Marine Harvest was disappointed in the final outcome, and the fish farm would have become one of Scotland's largest if the application was accepted.
The case will now go to the Crown Estate.
