Norway's seafood exports on the rise

Norway's seafood exports totalled 5 Billion NOK (£425 million) in the first two months 2005, up 10 percent compared with the same period last year.

Exports to Russia, which increased by an impressive 89 percent to 712 MNOK and made this the single largest market for Norwegian seafood, contributed to the higher figure.

Russia counts as the largest market for Norwegian seafood in January this year, with this development seen to continue. In February, exports to Russia totalled 408 MNOK, which is twice as much as the exports to Norway's second largest market, Denmark.
