Feed and feed additives from certain regions in Russia are now permitted into Belarus, according to a media report, citing the Department of Veterinary and Food Control under the Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus.

The country has lifted a suspension on such imports from Krasnodar Krai, North Ossetia, Saratov and Tambov Oblasts, following a period of more than 12 months when no new cases of African swine fever (ASF) is reported.

In addition, temporary restrictions on veterinary-controlled products from Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and the Amur Oblast have been lifted due to an absence of fresh cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).

However, the import ban on feed premixes, as well as live pigs, pork and processed pork products from those regions, remains. Belarus also refused entries of feed components and premixes containing raw materials from pigs. 

Russia's compound feed production had been blamed for ASF outbreaks, with accusations of lax screening on feed production in its own market.
