China to advance GMO grain technologies
China is speeding up the development of genetically modified organism (GMO) technology, and is also confident of a "good" grain yield this 2012, Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu said Friday (Mar 9).
The government is developing technology to genetically modify seeds, Han said at a media conference on the sidelines of the National People's Congress, China's annual legislative session.
China reaped a record harvest of 571 million tonnes of grains last year.
