Vietnam's Moc Chau Milk Co. builds new dairy cow farm

A specialised farm to raise 1,000 dairy cows in Moc Chau district of the north western province of Son La is being built by Vietnam's Moc Chau Milk Joint Stock Co.

This is part of the company's plan to have five specialised dairy cow-raising farms from now until 2015, with the number of dairy cows expected to increase by between 4,500-5,000 heads by then.

The move is predicted to help the company increase input materials for the milk production.

Moc Chau Milk JS Co. currently operates one specialised farm to raise 500 dairy cows and manages around 8,500 others, of which 8,000 cows are being raised at local households.

Its fresh milk output reached 35,000 tonnes in 2011, accounting one tenth of the country's total output.
