Lithuania's January grain exports drop 33% on-year
Lithuania's grain purchase, sale and processing companies exported a total of 110,760 tonnes of grain in January, a decline of 33% on-year, the Agricultural Information and Rural Business Center stated.
Grain imports in January soared by 72%, on-year, to 33,450 tonnes, it said.
The country imported 29,210 tonnes of wheat from Latvia, Poland, Denmark and Germany for LTL883.1 (EUR 255.97, US$357.71) per tonne on average in January. It exported 83,000 tonnes of wheat to Latvia, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, Norway and Switzerland at an average price of LTL756 (US$306.23) per tonne.
