India February soymeal exports fall on-year to 449,975 tonnes

India's February soymeal exports were estimated to have fallen to 449,975 tonnes from 587,425 tonnes during the same period last year, according to data issued by the Solvent Extractors Association, or SEA, Thursday.

SEA is a lobby group of local oilseeds and edible oils traders and processors.

The association did not give any reason for the decline.

Exports of oilmeal in February were estimated at 592,775 tonnes, down from 662,250 tonnes a year earlier.

SEA said oilmeal exports in the 11 months to February were estimated at a record 4.41 million tonnes, up from 3.61 million tonnes a year earlier.

Exports of soymeal during the 11 months were estimated at 3.11 million tonnes, up from 2.71 million tonnes.

Vietnam had emerged as the single largest buyer of Indian oilmeal, with exports there between April and February topping 1.0 million tonnes.
