Russia's January wheat exports up 70 percent on-year

Russia exported 893,000 tonnes of wheat in January, 70 percent more than in January 2007, the federal customs service reported Thursday ( March 6).

The exported wheat was worth US$286.2 million compared with US$98.7 million a year earlier.

Wheat export to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States in January was 872,700 tonnes worth US$279 million.
