Thailand fixed nationwide pork price at THB 98
 

 

Thailand's pork prices has been reduced to THB 98 per kilogram as of Wednesday (March 5, 2008), according to Thai deputy prime minister, Mingkwan Saengsuwan.

 

Consumers have been affected by the previous pork price of THB120 per kilogram, and the current lowered price will be fixed for two months, which will help to reduce inflation rate, said Mingkwan.

 

Mingkwan added that the new price would be introduced to hypermarkets as well as fresh markets in.

 

Pork retail price had shot up to THB120 per kilogram after the Internal Trade Department increased the farm price of pork on February 14, 2008.
