US Georgia's cattle producers benefit from beef checkoff

 


Established as part of the 1985 Farm Bill, the Beef Checkoff programme in the US continues to collect only US$1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle, in addition to a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products.

 

It was designed to increase the profit opportunities for producers across the country. Georgia Beef Board (GBB) Executive Vice President, Dale Sandlin, explains the return in value producers are getting for that one dollar.
