Russia, US to reach same wheat export levels
Over the next few years, Russia and the US will reach the same level of wheat exports.
A statement to this effect was made by Holly Higgins, adviser on agricultural affairs based at the US Embassy in Moscow.
In 2012, Russia increased wheat exports by 5.6% to 16 million tonnes, while US wheat exports are constrained by high domestic demand that was prompted by a reduction in yield following a bad weather spell.
Wheat production in the US will drop by 7.5% in 2013, Higgins said.
