China aims to stabilise '09 grains output at 500 million tonnes
China's government will aim to stabilize grains output for this year at 500 million tonnes, according to the National Development and Reforms Commission's draft report on the economy and social development for this year.
The country will also aim to steady prices of agricultural products such as grains, edible vegetable oils, cotton, sugar and hog, the country's economic planner said in the report released Thursday (March 5).
China's grains output last year was 528.5 million tonnes, up 5.4 percent on year.
