Aviagen SweChick hosts two-day conference in Sweden

On February 14-15, Aviagen^® SweChick hosted a two-day conference that focused on the latest techniques and developments in flock management.

Taking place in Helsingborg, Sweden, the event welcomed parent stock customers from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland. Delegates were offered a wide variety of presentations and workshops on the various aspects of flock management from Aviagen experts and guest speakers.

"This is a bi-annual event aimed at networking and sharing ideas so as to achieve top performance," said Thomas Carlson, Aviagen SweChick's general manager.

"Pooling experiences at a conference such as this is invaluable for driving our continuous improvement and development. It also gives us an opportunity to demonstrate our loyalty and dedication to customers."

The conference attracted 54 delegates representing nine Aviagen SweChick PS customers, with delegates coming from hatcheries and farms throughout Scandinavia to participate in talks and workshops on a variety of flock management subjects. The subjects included the latest on-farm technologies, egg storage, lighting, gut health and nutrition.

"On the second day of the event, we presented individual hatchery and farming sessions to dedicated groups with a special interest in each subject," said Carlson. "Feedback from delegates indicated that this tailor-made approach to the conference was invaluable in answering delegates' specific needs."

Paulina Wahlgren of SweHatch commented: "The reason for my attendance at this event was to gain knowledge to enhance production results for my company and to network with fellow Aviagen SweChick customers so (that) we can share ideas and experience. It was really helpful to get a more in-depth understanding of GP production results in Sweden and how our supplier deals with challenges and overcomes them successfully."
