Ukraine will be able to export about 32 million tonnes of grains during the 2013-14 marketing year, a rise of 39% compared with the expected export potential in the present marketing year, according to Vladimir Klimenko, president of the Ukrainian Grain Association.
According to Klimenko, the large-scale grain harvest in the current year will allow large export volumes from the country.
Winter weather conditions were good, and agrarians will have to re-plant 3-5% of winter crops, said the president of Ukrainian Grain Association. The harvest results will exceed the previous year indices by 10 million tonnes.
Klimenko remarked that in 2012, Ukraine ranked 10th position for production of grains worldwide and managed to achieve the average world yields.
