Ukraine grain exporters lower new crop prices

Leading grain exporters in Ukraine have lowered prices for the 2010 harvest by US$5-US$14 per tonne from the current level.

Traders were ready to buy feed wheat at US$145-US$148 per tonne FOB against US$150-US$162 as of March 2, said UkrAgroConsult on Wednesday (Mar 3).

Feed barley prices could also be reduced to US$125-US$130 per tonne from US$138-US$140.

Ukraine is likely to reduce grain exports to about 20 million tonnes in the 2009-10 season from a record 25 million in 2008-09. The exports reached 17 million in the first eight months of this season.
