Guyana's first aquafeed mill to be completed by end of September 2026

The first aquafeed mill establishment planned by the government of Guyana, should be completed by the end of September of this year and will enable local farmers to purchase feed at a significantly lower cost, paving the way for the sector's transformational boost, Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha said.
"The feed mill we are building for the aquaculture industry has already started, and we are hoping that by the third quarter of this year it would be completed, so we will be able purchase all of our local feed for the aquaculture sector, like for the shrimp farm that we have and so on," Mustapha told the Sunday Stabroek during a recent interview.
The minster underscored the significance of the initiative, noting that not only will the feed mill provide local farmers with affordable, high-quality feed, but it will significantly strengthen Guyana's position as a regional leader in seafood production.
