Tyson Foods offers COVID-19 vaccinations to its Iowa meat plant workers
Tyson Foods, the biggest meat processor in the United States, said it will offer COVID-19 vaccinations to thousands of its workers at its Iowa meat plant this week, Reuters reported.
The company, which previously said it will offer vaccines at its plants, projects most of its 13,000 workers at the Iowa plant to be vaccinated.
Tyson Foods said more than 2,000 of its workers have been vaccinated, with more vaccination plans scheduled for its workers in Wilkesboro, North Carolina; Albany, Kentucky; and Noel, Missouri.
Last year saw many slaughterhouses temporarily shut down after COVID-19 outbreaks were reported among meatpacking workers, resulting in reduced meat supplies for consumers.
