Beyond Meat CFO to retire in May

Beyond Meat said Mark Nelson, its chief financial officer who played an important role in the company's public listing in 2019, will retire in May 5 this year, Reuters reported.

The plant-based meat maker said Nelson's retirement was voluntary and was not due to a disagreement or anything related to its operations, practices, or policies.

Nelson joined the company in December 2015. After this retirement, he will stay with Beyond Meat as a consultant until May 5, 2023.

Under Nelson, shares for Beyond Meat have increased six times higher since the IPO. However, he attracted controversy after being named in a lawsuit filed by Don Lee Farms, a former supplier for Beyond Meat.

According to food industry magazine Food Navigator, Beyond Meat countersued Don Lee Farms with a trial booked for June.
