Bird flu kills hundreds Indonesian chickens

 

 

Several hundreds of chickens had been found dead in the Jambi province of Indonesia, according to local reports.

 

The areas affected are Jambi Kota and neighbourhoods of Jambi Luar kota in the province.

 

Tens of chickens were also found infected by deadly virus in the village of Kota, subdistrict of Jambi. And as per reports it spread to Pijoan village in Jambi Luar Kota subdistrict.

 

Head of Muarojambi district veterinarian office Paruhuman Lubis said that he had been aware about the dead chickens, but was not clear that the chickens were infected by the bird flu virus or by other diseases.

 

Lubis further said, "We have checked that there are chickens that suddenly die but we don't know yet whether they are infected by the (bird flu) virus or not."

 

The samples of dead chickens would sent to laboratory to examined the real cause of death of chickens. If the laboratory tests would verified the cause bird flu behind chickens death, then the related authorities would conduct disinfected sprays for the chicken cages of people.
