EU approves three GM corn for feed

The European Commission had approved three GM corn varieties for food and feed uses and import and processing in the European Union.

The three GM corn varieties were produced by US biotech firm Monsanto, said the Commission.

The GM corn types MON863xMON810, MON863xNK603, and MON863xMON810xNK603, received a positive opinion from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and underwent the full authorisation procedure set out in the EU legislation.
