February's seafood export decreased 30 percent on-month. However, the two months' revenues combined achieved a 19-percent growth on-year.

Vietnam exported around 87,250 tonnes of seafood, earning more than US$313 million in January 2008, attaining an increase of 4.47 percent in volume and 4.57 percent in value against December 2007 figures.

Of the total exports, frozen fish accounted for 57.75 percent in volume and 44.23 percent in value, the General Customs Department showed.

Vietnam projects to rake in US$900 million from seafood exports in the first quarter of this year, up 28.2 percent on-year.
