Viterra, Farmers Edge to deliver variable rate technology

Press Release

Viterra Inc. and Farmers Edge Precision Consulting Inc. announced Thursday (Mar 1) an agreement to jointly provide variable rate technology services to farm customers in western Canada using Viterra's Virtual Soil Testing (VST) technology, AgroMax-VST.

Doug Wonnacott, Chief Operating Officer, Agri-products said, "Variable rate and AgroMax-VST enable the grower to easily determine the correct amount of nutrients required to maximize crop returns. Advanced agronomy technologies coupled with intensive soil testing provides the information needed to determine customised fertiliser requirements at the field level. This direction supports our commitment to the industry's 4R Nutrient Stewardship. We are happy to collaborate with Farmers Edge to deliver this advantage to growers."

Farmers Edge President and CEO, Wade Barnes was excited to see the use of variable technology broadened. "We are pleased to be able to work with Viterra to bring this service to farm customers to maximize economical and environmental efficiency in crop production. As the most experienced provider of variable rate services in western Canada, we believe our expertise in the field can deliver the results that growers require," he said,

Viterra's AgroMax-VST is the product of 20 years of research and development, an investment that can now be better delivered to Canadian farmers through the company's relationship with Farmers Edge, the industry leader in the successful execution of variable rate technology.
