Swedish organic beef sales rose in 2005
Organic beef slaughter fell at Swedish Meats by almost negative 15 percent in 2005. At the same time the company's sales of organic beef rose by 7 percent. This means that a larger proportion of organic beef was sold as organic meat in 2005 compared with 2004, and also means the company received better pay for the organic meat than if it had been forced to sell it as conventional meat.
Swedish Meats accounts for about 80 percent of organic beef slaughter in Sweden.
