USSEC: Global Aquaculture Challenge to offer innovators opportunity to share ideas

The US Soybean Export Council (USSEC), The Yield Lab Institute and The Yield Lab Asia Pacific are offering eight innovators the opportunity to participate in a global, non-dilutive accelerator programme, USSEC announced last month.

The contest, Global Aquaculture Challenge, is a unique opportunity for innovators worldwide and all aspects of the supply chain to share their ideas, whether it be lab, technology or policy-based, and to ultimately improve the circular aquaculture approach.

Successful applicants will receive relevant subject-matter expert mentoring over the course of four months, leading up to a final pitch competition to present their innovations to potential investors. Winners, selected by a blue-ribbon panel of judges, will receive cash prizes, with one earning a grand prize of US$100,000

Advisors are integral to this programme and guide the process and selection.  Advisors help pair up mentors, who are global aquaculture experts, to be matched with startups and innovators on an expedited path to value creation and commercialisation.

Mentors will be selected after the eight successful innovators are chosen, to ensure the right partnership.

In the countdown to the final pitch, there will be opportunities where this year's cohort will present to potential investors and industry stakeholders.

A panel of judges will select the final winners in several categories.
