Argentina pork production up 17.5 percent in January 2007

 

 

Argentina's pig slaughtering reached 246,500 heads in January this year, posting a 19 percent rise compared to the same month of 2006.

 

On the other hand, the country's pork production reached 18 thousand tonnes in January this year, compared to the same month of 2006, when the item had totalled 21.1 thousand tonnes, which means a 17.5 percent rise. Compared to December 2006, the country's pork output fell 15 percent and slaughtering activities went down by 19 percent.
