Russia's animal feed production increases
The Russian animal feed industry is continuing to register gains in production in January 2006, according to the Federal State Statistics Service's latest report.
In January 2006, production by the animal feed industry increased by 10.5 percent from the previous year. The industry had a production increase of 5.8 percent in 2005 as the sector faced higher demand from the domestic poultry sector.
The country's compound feed output reached 828,000 tonnes in January, an increase of 11.8 percent from the previous year. Similarly, the total output of protein and vitamin additives increased by 11.6 percent to 4,200 tonnes.
