Brazil's pig slaughter rose 5.8% in Q4 2021
Pig slaughter in Brazil increased by 5.8% in the fourth quarter of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, according to preliminary results of the Quarterly Livestock Surveys conducted in the country.
13.29 million pigs were slaughtered in the fourth quarter last year. On the other hand, when compared to the third quarter of 2021, slaughter decreased by 3.2%.
Carcass weight was 1.21 million tonnes in Q4 2021, an increase of 7.9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 and a decrease of 4.8% compared to the third quarter of 2021.
