Vietnam approves salmon, sturgeon project in highlands province
Vietnam's Ministry of Fisheries have given its approval for a major salmon and sturgeon breeding farm in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
Jointly developed by the ministry's Aquaculture Research Institute and local scientists, the project will receive VND1 billion from the province in addition to funding from the ministry.
The fishes will be bred at Tuyen Lam, Da Thien and Suoi Vang lakes in the resort city of Dalat and other lakes in the Hiep Thanh commune.
If successful, experts say the 25-hectare project could develop into a 2,500-hectare project in the lowlands.
