Belarus to boost meat and dairy exports to Russia
Following the joint ministerial meeting in Moscow on February 26, Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus Leonid Zayats told BelTA that Belarus is expected to increase the supplies of meat (by 12%) and dairy (by 5%) products to Russia this year.
The meeting coordinated the Union State demand and supply balance sheets regarding staple foods. The document envisages bigger supplies of Belarusian meat and dairy products to Russia.
Leonid Zayats stressed that balance sheets had been coordinated without any exemptions and limitations. In his words, the meeting emphasised Russia's position that it should be Belarus that would provide the Russian market with food.
The meeting did not raise the issue of the quality of Belarusian products and the conduct of an antidumping inquiry by the Russian side. Leonid Zayats stressed that the quality of Belarusian products does not raise any doubts. Their high consumer properties were praised by both experts and consumers.
